Christian Christiansen, Jan Mondrup Pedersen, Katja Sørensen and Jakob Schwalbe Lohmann form the firm’s life sciences and chemistry practice, advising across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food technology. Christiansen heads the group and is closely involved in complex patent matters, including global portfolio management, infringement and validity assessments as well as strategic coordination of multi-jurisdictional cases. He is particularly active in pharmaceutical and biotechnology disputes, as well as in supplementary protection certificate work. Sørensen combines technical expertise with a strong commercial focus. Sørensen’s clientele includes the likes of Circular Food Technology, Ihfood Vision Technology and Procudan. She is called on for her expertise in patent drafting, prosecution work and broader IP strategy. Lohmann brings experience from both research and practice, advising a broad client base on patentability, freedom-to-operate and portfolio strategy. His expertise spans where regulatory and technical considerations are closely linked.
Representing the firm’s electronics, software and advanced engineering capabilities is Per Jørgen Nygreen, Peter Sørensen and Michael Friis Sørensen. Nygreen heads the ensemble and is particularly focused on integrating IP into broader business strategy. He advises on commercialisation, portfolio development and innovation-driven growth across areas such as fluid mechanics and software. Sørensen brings strength in post-grant work, including oppositions, appeals and freedom-to-operate analyses, and is noted for his work across mechanics, electronics and emerging technologies. Friis Sørensen contributes deep technical expertise in acoustics, audio processing and communication systems, and is regularly involved in proceedings before the EPO.
The mechanical and industrial practice is supported by Anette Hegner, Claus Elmeros and Matteo Biancardo, who together cover a broad range of technical fields including manufacturing, cleantech and renewable energy. Hegner focuses on strategic IP management, including licensing, collaboration agreements and due diligence. She is particularly adept at building and implementing IP strategies aligned with business objectives. Elmeros brings extensive experience in oppositions, infringement analyses and EPO proceedings, and is also active as a court-appointed expert and technical judge in Danish courts. Biancardo focuses on renewable energy technologies, particularly solar and materials chemistry. He combines technical expertise with strategic advisory work in areas such as patent landscaping and freedom-to-operate analyses. His recent work includes advising Organic Fuel Technology alongside Pedersen on building a patent portfolio for biofuel production from renewable feedstock, supporting funding rounds and the development of a demonstration plant. He also advises MicroShade on long-term portfolio management and IP strategy, supporting the development and protection of its shading technology.
